Helen Maxwell, harp

Helen held the position of Assistant Professor of Music at the University of New Orleans from 1977-1985 before taking off a few years to raise her two children. She then continued to operate a private teaching studio for years and now freelances as a professional harpist in the New Orleans area. She has performed with national artists including Paul Williams and Michel Le Grand and entertained President George H. W. Bush and Britain’s Princess Margaret. She has played in many touring Broadway shows and appeared at numerous Mardi Gras balls and debutante parties…but she considers weddings to be her specialty. It is her passion for the music that makes Helen such a perfectionist at her craft. Equally comfortable as a solo performer or in a two, three or four-piece ensemble, Helen can accommodate your specific musical requirements.  She is a consummate professional, whom you can count on to make the music at your event a glorious pleasure for all in attendance.
